Charford First School

Drama

Drama plays a big part at Charford and our YR children start off our drama calendar with a Nativity performance at the end of our Autumn term.

In the Spring term our Y1 children put on a fabulous performance of one of our favourite traditional tales - The Gingerbread Man.

Our Y4 leavers performance at the end of the school year is always a firm favourite with everyone and one which they all enjoying planning and performing.

Y4 BCM Event at South Bromsgrove High School

During our Summer term our Y4 children took part in a BCM event at South Bromsgrove High School with Millfields and Blackwell schools.  There were lots of drama games and improvisation based on the book Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.  The children listened to an excerpt from the story and had to recreate scenes from the book.  Each group put together a short performance on the stage in front of the other groups, working from scripts and following stage directions.

This is what some of our Y4 children had to say about the event:
"I enjoyed it because of the young leaders - they really helped us." (Rhianna)
"We worked together as a group and I made lots of friends."
"I think it will really help us in our dramatic performance - we've had a really good experience."
"I didn't know people had that much talent!"
